Windows Server 2012R2 no NIC after Windows Update

If you have a Windows Server 2012R2 VM (with Exchange Server 2016 (?) installed in it) and install the latest .NET Framework (4.7.1 KB4033369), you may loose network connectivity after the next reboot.

This happened to me on 2 different systems on different locations - Windows has no active Ethernet-Adapters and/or no valid IP configuration.

I could fix it like this:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

After that command, the Ethernet-Adapter was active again, but without a valid IP configuration. Re-Enter a valid configuration, restart the system and all should be fine again.

Long-Time-Fix
